China Pharmaceutical University (CPU) is one of China’s premier institutions for pharmaceutical education and research. Established in 1936, it was the first national higher education institution dedicated to pharmacy and is renowned for its academic and research contributions in pharmaceuticals and traditional Chinese medicine. The university is affiliated with China’s Ministry of Education and is part of the “211 Project” and the “Double First-Class” initiative.

CPU operates two campuses—Xuanwumen and Jiangning—spanning approximately 140 hectares. It serves over 19,000 students, including undergraduate, postgraduate, and international learners. Its pharmacy discipline is consistently ranked among the top globally, with achievements in pharmacology, toxicology, and medicinal chemistry receiving international recognition.
